Caption: "A storm filled with tornado funnels that hit in Caddo and Grady Counties and then roared roof-top high across Oklahoma City's south side Thursday night injured at least 31 persons and caused widespread property damage. The violent winds, hail and rain reached Will Rogers Field about 9 p.m. Weather bureau chief John Hamiltonsaid the storm definietly contained a tornado. Twisting winds took roofs off many houses, blew out windows and tore down power lines all across the south side. Most of the injured were cut by flying glass. Eight of the injuried were admitted to Hillcrest Hospital, four rooms of which were damaged in the storm. other injured from the storm area were taken to Capitol Hill, Deaconess, Mercy and St. Anthony Hospitals. Loyd Walters, 512 SE 46, suffered a heart attack during the storm. He died shortly after midnight at Capitol Hill Hospital...Pwer lines and poles were down across the city south of SW 44 and east of Will Rogers Field.
