The $10,665,000 project, which will-furnish jobs to more than 700 when completed, will house all the arehousing for the Civil Aeronatical administration. Six buildings, including a 15-acre warehouse for storing materials, are being erected on the west side of the flying field. In the foreground is the proposed air traffic control labortories. Adjacent on the left are the air navagation facilities. three state contractors have pooled their interests to build the structures. Funding bonds were issued for the center and will be retired from rentals recieved from the federal government. Caption: "The increased flow of surplus commodities now coming into Oklahoma won't result in a lowering of requirments for food relief recipients, L.E. Rader, public welfare director says. But a big increase in the amount of food distributed is under way because of the more plentiful and more desirable items which will be available. Charles File, director of the Oklahoma County welfare board, said four new commodities have been added to the county list since the start of President Kennedy's stepped-up program to funnel more surplus foods to the needy...In Oklahoma county, 10 commodities are now being distributed: Pork and gravy, dried milk, rice, corn meal, flour, beans, rolled oats, lard, butter and dried eggs. The foods actually available at a given time, however, vary with conditions. For example, dried eggs were not available here the latter part of April. Distribution of foods is handled by the county through its welfare voard. To be eligible for the food, clients must be certified by the state welfare department. In smaller counties, the commodity distribution is handled directly by the county commissioners. Some counties operate three different distribution setups for the three …
