Thunderstorms and heavy showes were general over the city area and a tornado warning was in effect until midnight. The tornado funnel was sighted over Lake Hefner by a lake ranger, but there were no reports of damage. Showers dumped more than an inch of rain in Midwest City, Del City and the city area."

And even then, you might not see it all. It's like a visit to a small planet - 20 minutes from downtown Oklahoma City. Some 40,000 Persons took the trip this week as Western Electric threw open its many doors for the first time since the operation started in a downtown bank-building in August,1957, and then moved into its present plant almost a year ago. In a series of "open house" programs, the public was treated to its first big look-see at what lies behind the walls of one of the city's greatest industrial developments. What did they see after taking 3,960 man-sized steps over the 1,300,000 square feet of floor space? First there were people-2,770 of them-enough to populate a small Oklahoma town. they work at a building incredibly intricate long-distance dialing equipment, and 90 percent of the employes were hired in Oklahoma City.........And if you're wondering what happens inside: More than 44,000 crossbar switches were assembled there in 1960. And last year, 123,600 miles of multi-colored wire …

Both trucks were purchased by Bill Hodges Truck Co., Oklahoma City. Stan Deffenbaugh, vice president of Oklahoma Kenworth, termed the carry truck - 8 feet wide at the front and 9 feet wide at the rear tires - the largest of its type to come into the Oklahoma oilfield. At the cab of the carry truck is Jack Hodges, president of Hodges trucking firm, while John T. Burns Jr., sales engineer for Oklahoma Kenworth, is at the cab of the smaller truck."

An option forstudy and development was signed between Amderson-Roomey Co., owners and operators of Penn Square, and the Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. Foundation, owners of about 13 acres in the tract. W. A. Anderson, president of Anderson-Roomey, estimated the 9-story office building, 20-story apartment and clinic building will cost "somewhere between $8 million and $10 million, depending upon the final plans." "It won't come tommorow. We're still in the process of study and planning. But we are far enough along that we can make a deal, get the idea out in the open and start writing definite contracts.....The project has been under study for some months. Coston-Frankfurt-Short, Oklahjoma City architecural firm that specializes in large commercial developments, submitted the proposals..........Anderson-Roomey is owned jointly by W. A. Anderson and the Rooney Brothers John E. Rooney and L. F. Rooney jr."
