The back of the photograph proclaims, “Terraces emptying into roadside. Terraces built 10-12 years. Has cut road into. Gully ate back as far as 100’ as much as 25’ deep. Photograph of the formation of a long and deep gully running alongside a road. The formation of this gully came from terraces built ten to twelve years prior, emptying water next to the road.
