The back page of the program includes advertising: Announing . . . No Time For Sergeants. Andy Griffith "Starring in the stage roll that rocketed him to fame!" Magazine slick. Handwritten inside the program is correspondence to Tommy [T. N. Carswell] from Sarah Anna. Crane reminisces regarding her father liking "this sort of show". Crane expresses her appreciation to Carswell for the update agreeing with Carswell regarding having fond memories of Hardin-Simmons and requests that if he sees Grace or Grady Andrews to please remember her to them.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Claude Lloyd, Ashland, New Hampshire, dated April 11, 1957. Lloyd explains why his choice to take a trip back to Abilene rather than going abroad was the right choice. He gives his take, 40 years later, of their friendship early on noting the similarity of their lives regarding both of their wives' borderline insanity. He advises that he enclosed a cheque and requests that Carswell send flowers to Claudine and Ollie Lena Olsen.

A letter written to Rupert H. Johnson from T. N. Carswell, dated April 29, 1950. Carswell expresses his appreciation for the letter from Johnson and for the returns on the investment that he made for him. He instructs Johnson to at all times feel free to sell and buy. He wishes for him a pleasant visit in Europe but states that "to me the situation is just as warlike as possible. Shooting could start any minute."

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from J. D. Sandefer, Jr., Breckenridge, Texas, dated April 6, 1950. Sandefer issues a reminder to Carswell of the annual service at the grave of J. D. Sandefer, Sr. on Easter morning and breakfast at the Wooten Hotel following.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Rupert H. Johnson, R. H. Johnson & Co. Investment Securities, New York 5, N. Y., dated April 24, 1950. Johnson advises of some sales of stock, that he is sailing for Europe and requests that Carswell advise him on what he wants done before he sails. Johnson advises that he does not know much regarding the items Babson recommended and that Carswell and Babson should watch those items.

A letter addressed to Editor, Abilene Reporter-News, from T. N. Carswell, dated April 24, 1956. Letter to the Editor written by Carswell in which he denounces a front page editorial that appeared in the paper as "unworthy of a paper of the past reputation and standing of the Abilene Reporter". Carswell rejects the writer's appeal to the people of Abilene to "support Lyndon Johnson, and repudiate Governor Shivers, upon the grounds that the Senior Senator from Texas has done and can do more for the Abilene pocketbook—who promises the most in the way of material benefits" expressing his disbelief that the people of Abilene will "barter the high privileges and obligations of their citizenship for a mess of potage".

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from R. E. Thomason, United States District Judge, El Paso, Texas, dated April 4, 1955. Thomason expresses his appreciation for the commendation and congratulations by Carswell pertaining to his decision in the Jencks-Matusow case.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Allan Shivers, Governor, Austin 11, Texas, dated April 24, 1953. Shivers acknowledges the receipt of the letter from Carswell dated April 23 and expresses his appreciation for Carswell's "commendatory remarks" on his stand.

A letter written to Governor Allan Shivers, Austin, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated April 23, 1953. Carswell expresses his appreciation for the steadfast stand by Shivers against Treasury Raids. He describes some "teacher friends" having exhibited little or no concern for the welfare of the whole just so their demands are met and advises that it is contrary to good government for the legislature to set the salary for local employees. Carswell conveys his "trust" that Senator Sadler and Representative Latimer are supporting the program advising copy of this letter is being sent to both men.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Truett Latimer, Texas House of Representatives, Austin, dated April 28, 1953. Latimer expresses his appreciation to Carswell for the receipt of the copy of the letter Carswell wrote to Shivers regarding the attempt of pressure groups to obtain money from the Legislature. Latimer advises that he voted against the teacher pay raise proposal.

A postcard from Pat McCarran, United States Senate, Committee on the Judiciary, addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, postmarked WASHINGTON, D. C. APR 28 1952. The reverse side includes a printed form letter by The United States Senate, Committee on the Judiciary. "This acknowledges receipt of your recent communication concerning a nomination pending before the United States Senate Judiciary Committee or a Subcommittee thereof." Explanation regarding the procedure concerning filing communications into the nominee's file and sending a printed form to assure the sender of the receipt of the communication, in order that the file will be complete and available at all times for the study of the committees.

A letter written to Senator Pat McCarran, United States Senate, from T. N. Carswell, dated April 23, 1952. Copy to Judge McGranery. Carswell explains to McCarran that as the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee McCarran represents him no less than he represents his constituents in Nevada, hence this letter concerning Judge McGranery, that McCarran cannot possibly believe such a man is qualified to be Attorney General of the United States.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from John Ben Shepperd, Attorney at Law, Austin, Texas, dated April 28, 1952. Shepperd announces that he is leaving the Secretary of State's office on May 1st and is seeking a promotion to the Attorney Generalship of Texas advising that this will be his first political race and, therefore, sincerely needs and wants Carswell's "help, counsel and active support".

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Tom Connally, United States Senate, dated April 24, 1952. Connally expresses his appreciation for the kind and generous comments by Carswell with regard to his announcement that he will not be a candidate for re-election and advises of an attached copy of a statement regarding his reasons for his decision.

Carswell discourses on his opinion of the appointment of Judge McGranery as Attorney General. He acknowledges Connally's intention to retire expressing his appreciation for his service stating, "You have served the State and Nation with uncommon ability, devotion and integrity".

A statement from Senator Tom Commally to the people of Texas, dated April 13, 1952. The statement is regarding Connally's reasons not to run for re-election.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Lyndon B. Johnson, United States Senate, dated April 26, 1952. Johnson acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell dated April 18, advises of the appointment of Judge McGranery as now pending and of public hearings scheduled for May 5. He expresses his appreciation for the encouraging comments from Carswell regarding his work promising to continue his efforts to eliminate waste.

Carswell states his opinion of Judge McGranery, that he "cannot believe such a man is remotely qualified to be Attorney General of the United States". The reverse side includes typewritten notes and calculations regarding taxable gain.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Rupert, R. H. Johnson & Co. Investment Securities, New York 5, N. Y., dated April 16, 1952. Johnson advises Carswell that General Key is on the opposite side of the political fence from Senator Kerr thus making him of no use. He discusses how a business matter grew out of a professional jealousy advising that his firm went through depression and war periods successfully and that competitors have the right to take action against a tough competitor. He offers help for Carswell's daughter and states, "I have high ranking friends if I can be of assistance to your daughter in Europe or here." Handwritten postscript is an advisement regarding "Jap bonds coming to life" and a settlement insuring good profits being not far off.
