Patent for "traps for catching large and small animals; and it consists in the combination of a number of inclined plates or boards, provided with spurs on their lower ends and hinged to fixed ridges on their upper ends, so arranged as to form ridges or elevations and depressions, and to entrap the animals by holding their legs between the spurred ends of said inclined plates" (lines 15-23).

A Western Union telegram sent to J. Watt Page, Austin, Texas from Luster P. Gollagher, Senior Warden Assistant, Texarkana, Texas dated April 21, 1943. Gollagher advises Page that four hundred inmates are already registered, 50 are not registered, and he has received no word of a local board appointment. A handwritten note by L. M. F. [Major L. M. Fellbaum] at the bottom left of the telegram advises of having called Col. Perkins [Colonel John Perkins].

A western Union telegram sent to T. N. Carswell in care of the McCartney Hotel, Texarkana, Texas from PAGE, State Director, Austin, Texas, dated April 29, 1943. Page advises that Colonel Banister [Colonel John R. Banister] has directed Carswell to travel from Texarkana to the Federal Correctional Institution in La Tuna, El Paso County via Abilene, return to Austin, and to forward his itinerary.
