Believed to be the largest project of its type in the metropolitan area, the five parking areas will be constructed of soil-cement. C. C. Keller jr., state paving engineer for the Portland Cement Association, said it is the largest such project "in at least the last six years and probably longer" in the greater Oklahoma City. In making soil-cement, Portland cement is mixed with soil and water to create the base and the paving substance. A surface of asphaltic oil and limestone chips is rolled onto the top. The five lots under construction comprise 42,000 square yard, Keller said. Work is expected to be completed by June 1, barring exessive rainy weather. Earl Schweikhard, said the paving project was made possible through $75,000 voted by the city council.
