Patent for a car-truck bolster. The design improves upon existing versions to bolster a car or truck in order to readily makes repairs in a simple and expeditious manner. The bolster can be taken apart which allows for each part to be replaced separately.

[Port Arthur Civilian Defense Card]

Card certifying A. J. Krohn as an air raid warden in Port Arthur, Texas. A head shot of Krohn and his fingerprint are visible on the front of the card. The text on the back of the card reads: "Port Arthur Civilian Defense Air Raid. This is to certify that A. J. Krohn has been duly appointed an air raid warden. This is his authority to carry out the duties given wardens by the chief air raid warden."

Photograph of Thomas Bos in a suit and tie. Handwriting around the photo notes that Bos was an early property owner in Port Arthur who was originally from Holland. The reverse of the photo has a handwritten note near the top stating that this was given to J. W. Carr. Writing near the bottom of the photo, to the right of a red photographer's seal, says that Bos purchased Port Arthur property for Dutch interests and that he was a client of Carr.

Onionskin carbon copy of letter from John J. Herrera, LULAC National President, to Ivey Gonzalez, Superintendent of the Identification Bureau, Police Department, Wichita Falls, Texas dated January 8, 1953. Herrera inquires about setting up a meeting to discuss LULAC and possibly organizing a LULAC council in Wichita, Falls. Herrera mentions the eight new councils set up so far in his presidency of LULAC: El Paso; Port Arthur; Wharton; Seguin; Smeltertown, and Victoria, Texas; and Deming and Los Alamos, New Mexico.
