Patent for a dish-cleaner that is used in a sink or another container. Its object is to force "air through the water and in contact with the submerged dishes" (lines 17-18). The invention also has "a water-agitator surrounded with supports for holding the dishes or other articles in a vertical position in close proximity to the outlet-ports of the agitator" (lines 20-23).

Disk Plow.

Patent for a revolving disk plow that pulverizes the soil. The plow is especially designed to prepare the soil for cotton and cultivating between rows of crops. It has a tongue, a cross-bar with a sloping edge, spindles set at an angle to the cross-bar, disks mounted on the spindles, a double scraper for the disks, a gage-wheel, and a pivoting and locking lever on the tongue.

Dynamometer for Locomotives.

Patent for a new and improved dynamometer for locomotives. This design is "to provide a novel construction in dynamometers for indicating the traction power of locomotives" (lines 9-11). It consists in "a draw-head, a chamber containing a liquid located therein, a piston operating in said chamber, means for connecting said piston with the opposite draw-head, suitable tubing connecting with the said chamber, and a pressure-gage mounted upon or attached to the said tubing and actuated by the said liquid" (lines 29-37).

Patent for an earth-auger meant to dig post-holes. It has a lateral "cutting-edge and a continuous cutting-edge from its point to its top, said cutting-edge receding continuously and uniformly from the axis of rotation of the tool, whereby it cuts from the center outward and gradually widens or increases the diameter of the hole at any given point until this point is reached by the periphery of the ears or basin at the top of the bit, and, furthermore, to provide means for packing or smoothing the sides of the hole" (lines 13-23).

Patent for an electric railway that has the electric conductor on or under the ground, in a tube. The tube gets electricity to the trains via contact-pieces embedded in the tube, and it collapses whenever the train wheels go over it. The tube and conductor are kept safe in a u-shaped hanger underground.

This design consists in "the combination of the supply-pipe, the supply-tank into which said pipe discharges, the said tank having a perforated bottom through which the water percolates, the vertically-divided cylinder forming the annular heating-chamber, the scatter-plates alternatingly located in diverse directions in said chamber, the said plates arranged to spray the water while heating as it falls from plate to plate, and the exhaust-steam pipe that discharges through an open port near the base of said annular heating-chamber" (lines 19-31).

This design consists in "[a] fence or gate composed entirely of pipes interchangeably connected together by couplings, and consisting of the long tubular pickets and the intermediate short tubular pickets, each long tubular picket being formed by two short tubular pickets connected by an intermediate coupling in the form of a Greek cross, a similar coupling at the top of each long and short tubular picket, and the T-shaped couplings at their bottoms, combined with a series of horizontal tubes" (lines 54-64).

This design is "to provide a snaring device which will, so far as possible, insure a capture; to so arrange the hooks as to prevent a loss of bait, and to provide a device capable of ensnaring as many fish as may at the time of lifting the snare by nibbling at the bait. . . . the invention consists in a spacing-ring, preferably formed of lead or other heavy metal and having a central hub and having a series of hooks radiating from the tub and secured to the ring, and in locating above the hub and at the center of a series of hooks a bait-support" (lines 11-24).
