The Millard home, also known as the O'Brien home, sat on the corner of Blanchette and Orleans Street and marked as an entrance to Lover's Lane. It was demolished in 1962. Postcard of Hotel Dieu hospital, located on the banks of the Neches River near Sabine Pass Avenue and Emmett Avenue. Hotel Dieu was first opened in the late 1890s. In the mid-1910s a red brick structure replaced the older wooden structure. It was built and operated by the Catholic Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. The George O'Brien Millard School was a public elementary school in Beaumont started about 1910 and sometimes known as just Millard School. George O'Brien Millard was a prominent Beaumont citizen who helped develop the public school system in Beaumont. Printed on the top left of the postcard is "Geo. B. Millard School, Beaumont, Texas."
