[Hotel Beaumont]

Postcard of the exterior and interior of Hotel Beaumont on the corner of Orleans Street and Fannin Street. On the left side is a picture of the exterior of the hotel with signs that say "Hotel Beaumont" and four automobiles on the street. On the right side of the postcard is the interior of the hotel with furniture. The Hotel Beaumont was opened to the public on Tuesday, August 8, 1922. It was 11 stories tall with 250 rooms and built in the Mediterranean Revival architectural style. Printed on the front of the postcard is "Hotel Beaumont, Beaumont, Texas" and "6A-H1654." On the back of the postcard is printed "Hotel Beaumont, 'A Hotel of Distinction,' In the Center of EVERYTHING, Completely Air Conditioned." [Beaumont Country Club]

Postcard of of the Beaumont County Club house with pier and boathouse in the foreground. The Beaumont Country Club was formed in 1906 on a hill overlooking the Neches River on a hundred acres of land. Printed at the top left of the postcard is "Country Club House, BEAUMONT, Texas." Postcard of rice threshing near Beaumont, Texas with at least seven African American men, a mule-drawn carriage, bags, rice, and machinery. On the right side of the postcard can be seen the threshing machine separating the grain from the stalks. Men are standing near the thresher as well as on and near a mule drawn cart between a pile of grain and bags. Another cart can be seen on the right side of the postcard. On the top right of the postcard is printed "Rice Threshing near Beaumont, Texas." Rice production is a key agricultural commodity for the area situated around Beaumont, Texas.

[Beaumont City Hall]

Postcard of Beaumont City Hall on Main Street between Gilbert and College streets. Two men can be seen standing on the right bottom of the picture. This building was built in 1909 to serve as a cooperative market by the City of Beaumont, but was used as a City Hall and Jail from about 1910 until 1926. Later in the 1920s it was used as a market and at one time went by the name of the Nancy Tevis Market. Printed on the top left of the postcard is "City Hall, Beaumont, Texas.--19." [George O'Brien Millard School]

The George O'Brien Millard School was a public elementary school in Beaumont started about 1910 and sometimes known as just Millard School. George O'Brien Millard was a prominent Beaumont citizen who helped develop the public school system in Beaumont. Printed on the top left of the postcard is "Geo. B. Millard School, Beaumont, Texas."
