They also tell Charles that they do not worry about him as they "had the assurance of God [that he] would take care of you."

Letter from Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Griggs to their son Captain Charles R. Griggs of the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion. The letter mostly talks about the death of their grandfather who died suddenly, Mr. Griggs had been away in Big Spring as it happened. The rest of the letter talks about the grandfather's dislike for smoking and drinking; finally Mrs. Griggs says that they pray for her son's safety as well as the rest of the boys.

Letter from the parents of Captain Charles R. Griggs concerning their recent efforts in spring cleaning their home: "I started spring house cleaning, the xxxx living room and [dining] room have been finished." Mrs. Griggs also would like her china from France but "it was bought when sets of six were made, now I need eight."

Letter from Mrs. C. K. Griggs to Gharles R. Griggs regarding daily life back home in Sweetwater, Texas; Mrs. Griggs tells that "190 Sweetwater people donated blood." She mentions the marriage between Otto Carter and Lillian Pratt, as well as her and Mr. C. K. Griggs' attempts at getting the yard in better shape.

Speech given by Judge Terry Julian to the men of Company E of the 36th Division at their reunion on May 17, 1986 in Sweetwater, Texas. The speech mostly discusses the history of the company, when it was organized, where it was moved to, where the men came from, and the casualties they suffered during World War II.

Letter from W.F. Ohlemeyer to David Duclos discussing personal issues including his health, time spent at the senior center, and a trip to Oro Grande (north of El Paso). The pages are all stamped in red with the text "Confirmation of Phone Order." The letter is dated April 1988, but it is in an envelope postmarked February 1986, addressed to the S. D. Myres Saddle Co. in Massachusetts.

Letter from W. F. Ohlemeyer to David Duclos discussing his personal life including his ailments, and barretts that Duclos gave him, which he wore to play pool. The letter is in an envelope addressed to Dave Duclos in Massachusetts (with a postal sticker referring to a new address for Duclos) and a postmark dated December 18, 1989.

Letter from W. F. Ohlemeyer to David Duclos mentioning that he never received a package that Duclos told him to expect and discussing his recent tragic turn of personal events. The envelope includes addresses for both men and is postmarked June 6, 1987.

Letter from Tex Polk to Sam Myres saying that he had heard from a local saddle maker about Myres moving his business to El Paso; Polk says he believes that that will be a good move for the business due to the central location of El Paso. He also asks Myres if he has any positions open because Polk would love to work for him. It's written on personal letterhead.

Letter from E. H. Saulson, director of the USO Club, to Mrs. W. E. Blewett in Sweetwater, Texas. Saulson discusses a meeting to be held August 25, 1942; according to him, the purpose of the club is "to help occupy time and perhaps develop some way of building or maintaining their own morale as well as that of their husbands." Also included is the envelope that this letter was delivered in.

Letter from John B. Ward to Frank La Croix at the S. D. Myres Saddle Company responding to an order for a dummy 4" Colt Diamondback and a 4" Diamondback. The letter is typed on Colt Industries letterhead and there are a number of handwritten notes and doodles on the page.

Note written to Sam Myres that reads, "From time to time as I'm photographed wearing your equipment I shall send you a copy - especially of the new goods you are making up for me." It is typed on letterhead with the text "A Gallu Production" in the upper-left corner and is signed with initials.
