A letter written to Tommy [T. N. Carswell] from Claude [Claude Lloyd], Peabody Hall, The Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter, New Hampshire, dated January 7, 1932. Lloyd acknowledges his receipt of Carswell's letter and expresses his appreciation for the letter and the news about Simmons University commenting that he wonders how they get on with so little endowment in these hard times. He advises that he enclosed pictures of his daughters, Cynthia and Dorothy, and their mother, Dorothy. Lloyd explains that he is in the English Department at Exeter, now, because of the Harkness gift and that he makes twice his old salary "for half the work" that he did. Lloyd expresses his appreciation for the pecans and says he will go "all the way to Texas to get a persimmon". He sends his regards to Drs. Cooper and Olsen, Mrs. Carswell and Peggy, that he wonders much about George Paxton and Mildred Paxton.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from George B. Brown, Captain, F. A., Headquarters Forty Fifth Division, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, dated January 7, 1941. Brown advises Carswell that he is replying in the absence of General Key and that the application received from Carswell is being turned over to Col. Miller for his file and consideration.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Allan Shivers, Austin, Texas, dated January 7, 1960. Shivers expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell expressing the confidence in his ability to serve the conservative cause advising that he could not consider a personal campaign of any kind at this time citing many family and business commitments.

Carswell, Merchants Paper Company, dated January 7, 1939. Carswell confirms that the papers legally setting up the Merchants Paper Company as a Limited Partnership have been filed and recorded and advises of a $4,000.00 partnership interest to Mr. P. H. Diffenbaugh .

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from C. C. Beene, First Baptist Church, Breckenridge, Texas, dated January 7, 1946. Beene informs Carswell that Mr. J. W. Wash and he were in Abilene to see if he could help them "get an under-cover man to catch some of the boot-leggers in their town".

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Tom K. Eplen, Abilene, Texas, dated January 7, 1960. Eplen expresses his appreciation for the Christmas letter from Carswell and gives the credit to Carswell for helping him to do what little good he has done for his community stating, "you helped me to get started on the right track". He invites him and Mrs. Carswell to the Victory Men's Bible Class Annual Banquet noting that he remembers Carswell's work with the class "back yonder".
