He offers to provide any information that may be lacking regarding the records of Subject advising that his interest in Subject arises solely from the relationship of Parolee and Parole Officer. Carswell closes with the suggestion that Warren might have met Governor Shivers at the Seattle Governor's Conference advising that "to get the full measure of the man, you have but to recall what happened in Texas last year―it largely was his wise and determined leadership that brought us victory".

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from a parolee/inmate in Stillwater, Minnesota, dated March, 7, 1954. Subject 17671 [108,345] describes the unusual weather, the delay of his transfer and his receipt of a letter from Mr. Gordon Jaeck, Chairman of the Minnesota Parole Board. Subject confirms his understanding that Jaeck has no control over parole in Texas but was pleased that Jaeck "would if he could." Subject states that his main goal now is getting out of prison.

He notes there was a nice crowd and explains that R. C. Montgomery, who was elected Chairman, was many years earlier the Chairman of the first Local Option Campaign in Haskell.

Carswell recounts events of a meeting in Lubbock, advises of pledge cards received for a Field Day to be held in Lubbock and emphasizes that the churches are anxious to have Davis and Bishop Boaz attend their Field Day. Typewritten at the top of the letter is a list of Lubbock area churches and organizations.

A letter written to Rev. A. M. Rodgers, Moderator, Dallas Baptist Association, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman United Texas Drys, dated October 7, 1942. Carswell expresses his amazement at the lack of interest of many Christians and the opposition of some non-Christians in the liquor traffic. He advises of having written 26 church schools in Texas requesting information regarding the curriculum each school offers on the effects of beverage alcohol. He suggests that Baptist schools should include a required course of study on the effects of beverage alcohol. A handwritten note at the bottom of the page reads "Arrived too late - Good suggestions. A. M. Rodgers".

Carswell endorses the suggestion by Secretary McKinzie which encourages pastors to observe Father's Day as a "Field Day for Righteousness" and to consider including United Texas Drys in the church budget.
