An ornamental pin of bachelor buttons was sprinkled wiht glitter. Hat with rolled brim was decorated with flowers, to represent a feathered plume, and purse, gloves and shoes were of crused ebony leaves. Narrow belt of clipped boungainvillea matched the blouse and earrings were fashioned of the silvery, reverse side of cenizo leaves.

Her nails were covered with single flower petals, and 15,650 bougainvillea blossoms were required for the entire costume. Ten Garden Club members worked for 156 hours, and cost of materials totaled $18.00. The club received honorable mention.
