Interview with Charles M. Lagow, a Army WWII veteran from Dallas, Texas. Lagow discusses his family history, attending Texas A&M, joining the CCC, the lead up to war, activation and training with the 352nd Engineer Battalion, deployment to Khorramshahr, Iran, building roads, delivering supplies to the Soviets, crash landing in a B-17 in Palestine, returning to the States and transfer to the 1346th Eng. Bat., deployment to Okinawa, occupation duty and Japanese holdouts, thoughts on Hideki Tojo, attitudes towards the Japanese, shell shock and mental breakdowns, the atomic bomb, and life after the war.

Cocktail dress of blue, aqua and white rayon/nylon blend brocade with gold metallic lurex threads in stylized chrysanthemum flower and semi-circle or rainbow motif. Knee-length. Center front zipper is hidden by ivory satin placket with 5 self-covered buttons. Double collar of brocade under and ivory satin upper. Short sleeves. Two patch pockets with flaps and ivory satin covered button on front at sides. Princess seams. Inverted pleat in back starts at waistline; half belt band on back waistline is finished inside princess seams. Lined in blue rayon jacquard with "Mori Hanae" imprint. A) Evening dress of gray silk chiffon with print of Mount Fuji scene at bottom of dress with yellow and white blossoms on upper portion accented with Japanese writing in red rectangular boxes. "Hanae Mori" signature in print. Under layer of black chiffon. High rounded neckline. Full length, straight silhouette. Long sleeves are open under arms and are formed from rectangular panels which drape like kimono sleeves for full length of dress. Interview with the Rev. Ocie Turner, a minister at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dallas, Marine WWII veteran, and a longtime resident of the Hamilton Park neighborhood, from Mexia, Texas. Turner discusses his family background, education, serving in the Marine Corps at the Battle of Iwo Jima, working as a butcher in Dallas, working in the oil and gas industry, buying his house in Hamilton Park, the growth and development of the neighborhood, community organizations, local businesses, the schools and his children's education, and changes in the neighborhood over time.

Evening dress of floral and butterfly patterned silk chiffon over same patterned silk surah in orange, pink and light blue. Chiffon fabric has "Hanae Mori" signature in pattern. Fitted, slightly empire bodice with moderate, round, bound neckline. Flared, full-length raglan sleeves of silk chiffon. The sleeves are slit at the underarm seam from the elbow to the wrist. Center back zipper closure from neck to hip line with a single hook & eye at the neckline. Over skirt secured at waistline with four suspended, covered snaps. Slightly raised empire waist seam with semi-fitted, full length skirt. Ombre velvet belt in shades of yellow/tan to pale green. The belt is secured center front with a single hook & loop, and the closure is disguised by a bow with tails. Chiffon over skirt has center front lapped opening from waist to hem. Fully lined in white silk. Oral History Interview with Adolph Krchnak, May 23, 2015
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Adolph Krchnak. Krchnak joined the Army in December of 1944. He completed parachute school. In late 1944, early 1945 he was stationed in the Philippines with the 11th Airborne Division. They served in a traditional infantry role in the Philippines. His division participated in the Liberation of Manila in the spring of 1945. In August of 1945 they traveled into southern Japan as part of the occupation force. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
