Interview with landscape architect and Army veteran William Garbo Sr. The interview includes Garbo's personal experiences about the G Troop, 112th Cavalry, in the Southwest Pacific Theater during World-War II, growing up in an Italian-American family in Mississippi during the Great Depression, volunteering for the draft and processing at Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, basic training at Camp Lee, Petersburg, Virginia, being assigned to the 26th War Dog Platoon and to New Guinea in 1944, the Battle of the Driniumor River and his attachment to elements of the 32nd Infantry Division, jungle patrols on New Guinea with his dog, his transfer to Troop, 112th Cavalry and the invasion of Layte, Philippines, and the living condition in the Philippine jungles. Interview with Father Raymond Abbitt discussing his experiences as a civilian internee of the Japanese during World War II. He was captured on the Island of Mindanao in the Philippines and held in various Japanese camps in the Philippines.

Interview with homemaker Janet Blair. The interview includes Blair's personal experiences about being a Red Cross volunteer in the European Theater during World War II, education in Europe, working with "Bundles for Britain," various assignments, rationing and air raids in England, D-Day, and serving troops during the Battle of the Bulge. Additionally, Blair talks about her patriotic motivation, her decision to join the Red Cross, her selection as a clubmobiler, the formation of a lifelong friendship with Diana Marvin and Peggy Bell, the use of Greenliners, relationships between Red Cross women and U.S. military personnel, leave time in Paris, living conditions of France, looting, and the end of the war and her return to the States.

Interview with Colonel M.L. Daman, an Army veteran and a survivor of the siege of Corregidor, concerning his experiences as a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese during World War II. Daman discusses the fall of Corregidor and his capture, Bilibid Prison in Manila (1942-1943), Davao Penal Colony (1943-1944), Bilibid Prison again (1945), the fall of Manila, and his liberation. "Leftwich's Grant is the second volume in a series that is intended to document the colonization of an area in Central Texas that eventually became known as Robertson's Colony." It covers "the three years that [Robert] Leftwich spent in Mexico City and Saltillo" and includes "a complete account of his official negotiations with both the national government in Mexico City and the state government of Coahuila and Texas. It also includes documents concerning Dr. Felix Robertson, President of the Texas Association, and the group of young men who came to Texas with him in the fall of 1825 to explore the grant and survey land for the stockholders" (p. 11). The first half of the scrapbook is composed of newspaper articles that have been pasted onto the pages and some that were inserted in between the book's pages. The articles are from Confederate states and contain news, poems, and stories centered around the Civil War and the time after. The second half of the book served as a ledger for the family to keep track of their expenses.
