But we are perplexed to make sense of the images and interpret them in the eight of our circumstances today. This workshop will look at how Revelation might be used profitably by the church. Attention to the shape of the book, its theological themes, and its dramatic nature will be given. This workshop will conclude with dramatic interpretations of selected texts from Revelation."

When God Seems Absent - The Story of Esther
Lecture given Tuesday, February 19, 2002, 9:45 AM at Abilene Christian University: "Is God really with us in any way that matters when we can't see any miracles in life? Is God with us in times of tragedy? Since miracles have always been rather rare, even in biblical times, how does God act in our world when axe heads don't float, the blind stay blind, and the lame still need wheelchairs? By looking at the lives of Ruth and Esther we will see God's sovereignty working behind the scenes from the peasant's shack to the palace suite and find parallels in contemporary life."
