The second document is from Joaquín Vidal, announcing that he is sending three official decrees, including the one dated August 14, 1809 (the accompanying document). The document from Joaquín Vidal is signed by local Spanish authorities acknowledging their having received the message.

Message from Joaquín Vidal to Spanish officials concerning a recent decree from the viceroy, and encouraging those officials to comply. The second document is the decree from the Viceroy de Lizana asking to find new ways to raise funds to continue the war with France and to free King Ferdinand VII.

Correspondence between José Cadena and José Ramón Díaz de Bustamente attempting to straighten out a debt that is currently fourteen years old. The document has three seals stamped on the front page, and has slightly frayed edges.

Message from Manuel de Iturbe and the Intendant of San Luis Potosí saying that the first sale of salted meat is exempted from tax. The document is signed and dated by local Spanish officials acknowledging their having received the notice from the governor.

Announcement from Manuel de Iturbe to Spanish captains and justicias saying that he is sending a decree from the viceroy and king, which announces the creation of a Council and Supreme Court to replace the suppressed tribunals. The message is signed and acknowledged by Spanish officials in the local towns and villas.

Announcement from Joaquín Vidal to Spanish officials saying that the Conde de Balveder is allowed to leave Carthusian monastery, cleared of all suspicion, and may return to military action. This announcement is signed by Spanish officials, acknowledging their having received this from de Larca.

Message from Governor Manuel de Iturbe with regulations concerning infractions of rules on "aguardiente." The document is signed by Spanish officials in the local towns such as Revilla, Mier, Laredo, etc.

Complaints from the citizens of Laredo concerning inaccurate measuring of lands; the citizens ask for these problems to be rectified. The document is signed by Laredo officials acknowledging receiving the statements from the citizens.

Announcment from Joaquín Vidal de Larca saying that Governor Manuel de Iturbe has returned to the province. The document says that officials are to divulge the news in the usual manner, and is signed by local Spanish justicias.

Statement from Jose María Elisondo to the mayor of Laredo saying that 140 goats were stolen while he was away; Elisondo gives facts, and suspects, and asks for justice to be done. According to the document an inquiry is to follow concerning the case; officials have signed the document in various places.
