Ponds-Construction Method
Photograph of a spring which will help to supply water for newly constructed concrete dam. Spring has a long history and has never been known to run dry. Area where stick is pointing is reported to have been carved out by settlers in the late 1800's to form a trough to water horses.

Photograph of aerial view of range cover evaluation plot 17. Bare ground, poor condition; unused. No cover, except algea crust on soil surface. Soil splashed was 21,824 lbs. per acre, detachability 27% of standard sand. Water retained on plot during 20 minute test was 0. 95 in. , 47% water lost 1. 07 in. , 55%.

Photograph of a herd of cattle grazing alfalfa in border-irrigated field. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Cattle on alfalfa in border irrigated field. Before soil conservation district was organized, this field was in sunflowers – just paid a little more than taxes – now 2 days grazing raised butter fat 200 lbs. The 250 acres of alfalfa has been grazed, raised 20,000 bales of hay this summer plus a seed crop. See Tex-44-788 and Tex-44-489."
