From abstract: This report comprises data derived from 53 prospect drill holes drilled by the Davison Chemical Corp. in the eastern part of the Bonny Lake mine, Polk County, Fla.

From abstract: During the month of May 1950, the Davison Chemical Corporation, under contract with the Atomic Energy Commission, drilled 24 phosphate prospecting holes in the western part of the Bonny Lake mine, in the SW NW4 and the NW*SW4 sec. 32, T. 29 S., R. 24 E., Polk County, Fla. The purpose of this drilling was to obtain a comparison between tonnage and grade of uranium in the phosphate as indicated by prospecting, and the tonnage and grade of uranium in the phosphate products recovered in the mill. The results presented in this paper are based upon a study of drill cores, drill logs, gamma-ray logs, and the chemical analyses of drill-core samples.

Interview with James F. Brede, dentist and U.S. Army Air Forces veteran. The interview includes his personal experiences in World War II as a B-17 co-pilot with the 8th Air Force in the European Theater, his childhood in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, enlistment in the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1943, preliminary training in Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas, his active service with the 379th Bomb Group in Kimbolton, England, combat experience in 35 missions, return to the U.S. and continued military service as a flight instructor in Lakeland, Florida and Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as the return to civilian life, marriage, dental school under the G.I. Bill, reenlistment in the Air Force as a dentist, his deployment to Korea, his discharge from the Air Force, and the establishment of his dental practice and experiences since retirement. The interview includes an appendix with a copy of his book.

From abstract: Investigations of the land-pebble phosphate deposits of Florida by the Geological Survey began in November 1947. This report presents the computation of reserves of phosphate rock in the northern part of the district.

Report discussing a geological examination of an area in Polk County, Florida with leached zones containing uranium. The objective of the study was to determine the advisability of making plans for stockpiling the leached zone material in this area.

Report discussing studies of millisite and pseudowavellite, which were "locally abundant in the leached zone of the highly phosphatic Bone Valley formation in west-central Florida." Studies include optical determinations and x-ray studies.

The following report presents the results of part of a geologic study of the phosphate deposits in central Florida. The purpose of the investigative research done in Florida is to determine the geologic history of the phosphate deposits and associated sediments, in order that the distribution of phosphate and uranium will be more clearly understood.
