They inform Mr. Saunders that proper action has been taken and that further recommendations were given to the Fire Chief.

He writes with an urgent tone, as word has spread of a possible march by the Ku Klux Klan. A radio personality, a city councilman, and an organization protesting a housing project have all been linked to the event. Fears of Klan members carrying weapons and enacting violence pose additional threats.

Letter from Drew S. Days III, Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division, to John H. Sanders, Mario Marcel Salas, and Rick Green of Organizations United for Eastside Development (OUED). The letter is in reply to their allegation of fraud in the trial of Webb Boyd, whose murder was believed to have been racially motivated. Mr. Days assures them that correct action will be taken if their allegations are found to be true.

Letter from Finnis E. Jolly, area manager of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, to Thomas E. Huebner, city manager of San Antonio. Jolly's letter is in response to some of Huebner's questions, as well as a reminder that funds given to the Barbara Jordan Community Center must be reimbursed because of its low priority; otherwise, Jolly will take the proper course of action.

The letter was written as a follow-up, and as a request for help, after Sanders met Gonzalez in Washington D. C. over problems brewing in the San Antonio community. It would seem that the City Manager and members of its staff made concerted efforts to undermine urban development, community centers, and other services that would have been beneficial to San Antonio's marginalized ethnic communities.

Letter from S. Marcus Jahns, director of Budget and Research Department, to T. C. Calvert of Organizations United for Eastside Development (OUED). The letter was sent a status report on a proposed government project, the Barbara Jordan Community Center. News include the reallocation of five hundred thousand dollars to the Center and an upcoming meeting with the project architect.

Letter from a member of Organizations United for Eastside Development (OUED) to Assistant District Attorney Roy Barrera. As prosecutor in the trail of Webb Eugene Boyd, Mr. Barrera was responsible for charging two police officers with the voluntary manslaughter of Mr. Boyd. OUED is writing to congratulate the attorney's work, which they see as a stepping stone in relieving racist relations in San Antonio.

Letter from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to Mario Marcel Salas, president of the Black Coalition on Mass Media (BCMM). Only one page of their correspondence has been provided, however. From what remains available, it appears that the FCC was trying to distance itself from a disagreement that occurred between the BCMM and KAPE radio, in which the latter accused BCMM of "personal attacks."

He writes to complain to the television station about a Bugs Bunny cartoon that was aired in which various racial slurs were used towards Japanese people. He hopes the airing was a mistake and an oversight on the part of the television station.

Letter from Mario Marcel Salas, president of the Black Coalition on Mass Media, to the complaints and compliance division of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It seems that, after buying a political advertisement to air on KAPE radio, the BCMM's ad was pulled from the air by the station when an official from the FCC ruled it to be a personal attack. The letter Mr. Salas sends is to inquire about the validity of the ruling, if such a ruling even occurred.
