This study was concerned with determining whether those foster grandparents employed at Denton State School and seen as more or less successful in job performance could be differentiated on the basis of selected psychological and sociological characteristics. In summary, it may be said that the study was exploratory in terms of the population involved but borrowed its methods and variables for investigation from studies of similar purpose of groups participating in "helping relationships."

A comparative study was made of the effects of varied time intervals of rest between warm-up and performance in the 440-yard dash by students in selected physical education classes at North Texas State University during the spring semester of 1967. This study was made to determine if the length of a rest interval after cessation of warm-up activity has any significant effect upon the subsequent performance in a 440-yard dash, and to determine if any length of rest interval facilitates performance in a 440-yard dash.

It will be the purpose of this thesis to describe and analyze the events and factors which shaped installation of the first electronic data processing system acquired by the City of Denton, Texas--a "medium-sized" municpal organization operating under the council-manager plan. Because the environment may have some degree of effect upon such an effort within the public sector, a certain amount of space will be given over to description of the community as a geographic location, as an aggregation of people engaged in varied activities, and, by implication, as a background for the operation of a municipal government.

This is a study to ascertain the current qualifications and status of the industrial arts teachers employed in the elementary, junior, and senior high schools in the state of Texas. The purpose of this study is threefold: 1) to hypothesize that the qualifications and status of Texas industrial arts teachers have improved within the last fourteen years; 2) to hypothesize that those industrial arts teachers who were active in professional organizations have higher academic qualifications and status than those teachers who were not active in professional organizations; and 3) to hypothesize that industrial arts programs under the guidance of those teachers who were active members of professional organizations had a more complete industrial arts program and offer a wider selection of courses than those not.

Two questions can be posed for study: 1) Will the effect of auditory masking provided by a clinical noise significantly affect the performance of hearing children on the Knox Cube Test? 2) Are there significant differences among brain-injured, mentally, retarded, and "normal" children in ability to adjust to auditory masking in the performance of the Knox Cube Test?

The following purposes were proposed in undertaking the study: 1. to determine the health knowledge of the students selected for the study, as indicated by a standardized test; 2. to determine the health practices of the students selected for the study, as indicated by a standardized inventory; and 3. to determine if there is a relation between the health knowledge and the health practices of the students selected for the study.

The secondary boycott issue has been present in the history of the American labor movement throughout the twentieth century. It has, consequently, been subjected to many of the same changes in policy by Congress, interpretation by the courts, and attitude of the public as have strikes and picketing. Secondary boycotts, however, have been handicapped much more than the other instruments of union power in as much as they have usually been treated as though they were less legitimate. This thesis will discuss the secondary boycott, and it legal status in the United States.

The problem of this study is to determine the relationship that may exist among the variables of racial status, puberty status, anthropometric measurements, and physical fitness. Particularly of interest are the anthropometric differences that may exist among Negroes and Caucasians and the effect that these differences may have upon physical fitness as measured by the AAHPER Physical Fitness Battery. Differences among racial groups and puberty groups will be determined by analysis of variance technique and relations among anthropometric measures and physical fitness components will be compared and determined by correlational techniques.

This study was to determine physical education program offerings at the junior colleges in Texas and to present them in such a manner that comparisons could be made between these programs and recommendations of the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation.

The study was undertaken for the following purposes: 1. To determine the present level of physical fitness of a group of mentally retarded girls at Denton State School. 2. To determine the effect of a creative dance program, devised by the author, on the physical fitness level of a group of mentally retarded girls at Denton State School. 3. The purpose of the present study is to try to establish if perception is a determinate factor of performance on the Bender Gestalt Test. In a study which is attempting to determine the effects of perceptual factors as compared to motor factors on the Bender Gestalt Test, it would seem necessary to separate the two factors.
