Letter from Corporal Park B. Fielder to his family, on April 21, 1945. He details his voyage from Los Angeles, California on the way to Calcutta, India, including a stop in Australia where he met up with a friend.

Center panel is nine squares bordered in geometric embroidery, with each square containing nine mica mirrors attached with buttonhole stitches around edges. Center panel surrounded by border with linear pattern, then border with double helix pattern, then wider band with floral motifs with mica mirrors at center. Outside that band is another border of double helix pattern, a wider band of roundels with sun pattern and mica mirrors at center, and outside border of double helix. Back lined in undyed muslin, with many stitches showing through.
