Letter from [Ludwig Huth] to [Ferdinand] Louis [Huth] detailing which letters have been received, sent and answered. He goes on to discuss in detail a financial disagreement themselves and a friend of Castro's in Paris. He asks several questions regarding the land in Texas and discusses the unusually long, severe winter and how it has affected their colonization plans. A copy of a letter from someone in Altdorf stating that a widow had returned from Texas and was telling everyone how horrible it was and how her husband starved to death. As a result, few colonists were willing to come from her town. He also discusses Pfanner's plans and a financial disagreement with Isabelle.

U.S. - EU Poultry Dispute
This report discusses the European Union (EU) refusal to accept U.S. imports of poultry treated with antimicrobial rinses. Prior to 1997, when the prohibition took effect, U.S. exports of broiler and turkey meat to the 15 countries that then constituted the EU were reported to total nearly 32,000 MT with a value of $44.4 million.

German Low-Temperature Coal-Tar Industry
Report issued by the U.S. Bureau of Mines discussing a low-temperature coal-tar industry in Germany. As stated in the Purpose and Scope of the Investigation, "the primary purpose of the investigation covered by this report was to determine to what extent the production and use of low-temperature tar in Germany had advanced during the 10-year period prior to the close of the last war" (p. 7).
