Letter from I. H. Kempner to D. W. Kempner discussing facts rumored and stated at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, including that Galveston Wharves were planning to building a warehouse for Campdera, Cook & Company would lease ten acres of their property and erect a warehouse, and that Volkart is planning to add 125,000 square feet to their property. Furthermore, the materialization of these prospects would increase the importance of Galveston as a cotton port and possible opportunities to sell parts of their own plant.
