Letter from Haskell E. Dishman to his Mother, November 8, 1919, written from somewhere in France. In his letter, Dishman tells his mother that he is getting around after two weeks in bed.

Letter from Private Roger L. Fulton to Georgia Cavett, greeting her and sharing the details of the city in which he resides in France. He also inquires about the home stead in New Mexico where Ms. Cavett resides and informs her about his plans to return to the United States.

This document contains orders to the First Lieutenants of the "Aviation Section, Signal Officers' Reserve Corps" that they are to report to active duty and the names of the men ordered to service are listed underneath the brief paragraph.

Map of the site where the Battle of Vauquois took place. The extensive tunnel system in the area is depicted. This battle took place during World War I from 1914-1918. The small village of Vauquois, France, was strategically located on a hill that gave a commanding view of the surrounding area. Control of the hill was contested throughout the entirety of the war. This conflict led to one of the most extensive tunneling operations during the war. The American unit that fought at Vauquois during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive was the 35th National Guard Unit, made up of solders from Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois. The 36th and 90th National Guard Units, from Texas, were also involved in the offensive. There is no text on the map. The topography is marked in meters.

From Introduction: "The lack of comparable and accurate statistics of coal-mine accidents in the united States as a whole led the Bureau of Mines in 1911 to undertake the collection of such data. The mining departments of the leading foreign coal-producing countries have long taken cognizance of the importance of statistics. The bureau feels that in presenting the tables embodied in this report it is offering the and comparable statistics of coal-min accidents for the country as a whole that have ever been published."

Letter from Victor Lauderdale to his father on American YMCA Stationary, dated May 11, 1919. The letter is brief and informs his father of a letter he enclosed for his mother in celebration of mothers day despite her death with the sentiment "We were with her in life; even so in death we shall be with her." He goes on to mention a trip to Belgium that he is contemplating taking before he comes back to the states.

Letter and envelope from son Victor Lauderdale to mother Mrs. Lauderdale, May 11th, 1919. The seven page letter addresses a reflective dialogue frequently mentioning God, religion, obedience and guidance about his experiences in the Army and at war. The letter is written on stationary provided by the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA).

Letter and envelope from son Victor Lauderdale to his father J.R. Lauderdale, November 14, 1918. The letter addresses the armistice ending the war and the ensuing celebrations taking place among the civilians and soldiers. Lauderdale relays information on the attitudes of the French, his intentions to explore Europe before coming home and details about his coworkers and job as a bookkeeper.

Single page of American Red Cross Stationary with English and French writing covering June 26th and 27th, 1919. The notes include dairy like entries that comment on the progress of the war and list places Lauderdale visited including such as chapels, 2 ponds, lake, Napoleon Lounge, and the colonnade.

The bottom margin contains a pen written note of what appears written on the back originally which reads " Ed Lauderdale in France" The back also includes a description of the photograph as "Some chums boxing".

Fragments of an envelope, addressed to S. Lauderdale paired with a possible back page of a booklet which reads in French "Moreau Éditeur Versailles" with an insignia of a line with floral decorations running through it. The booklet leaf could be a possible souvenir from Lauderdale's time spent in France.

This official War Department document contains orders to the named officers "of the Aviation Section, Signal Reserve Corps," the names are listed on the following pages. The men are to "participate regularly and frequently in aerial flights."

The portrait has no background, but is mounted in the center of tan cardboard stock mat with an embossed stamp in the lower right corner reading "Photographie Victor Hugo 130 Avenue Victor Hugo." The folded cover paper has a round stamp affixed on the front which reads "Rancoule, Paris, 130 Av. Victor Hugo." The portrait was apparently taken in Paris, France during Col. Moore's service on General Pershing's staff.
