Oral History Interview with Victor Oppenheim, 1995-1996

Interview with Victor Oppenheim, a geologist and explorer, concerning his experiences working in mineral exploration and drawing geological maps for various governments in South America from 1929 to 1975. Oppenheim discusses being a geological consultant to governments of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru; being a research geologist for the governments of Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay, and Venezuela; coal and oil discoveries; the completion of the first geological map of South America in 1944; his views on evolution and religion; archeological discoveries; and his geological activities in Texas, Alaska, and West Africa. Includes an Appendix.
