A Comparison of Meansort and Quicksort
The main purpose of this project is to compare a new sorting method- Meansort with its preceding sorting method- Quicksort. Meansort uses the mean value for each key to determine the partition of the file, but Quicksort selects at random. Experiments proved that in some ways Meansort is superior to Quicksort but is still not perfect since it always needs a mean value for each key. This project implements these two methods and determines the situations under which each of these methods outperforms the other.

The Data Structure of a KSAM Key Directory
The purpose of this project is to explore the alternate data structures for a disk file which is currently a preorder binary tree. specifically, the file is the key directory for an implementation of Keyed Sequential Access Method (KSAM) in a mini-computer operating system. A new data structure will be chosen, with the reasons for that choice given, and it will be incorporated into the existing system.

El Desarrollo de los Caracteres Anormales en las Obras de Emilia Pardo Bazán
The purpose of this investigation is to determine the change in characterization that takes place in the works of Emilia Pardo Bazán. Source material include the writings of such critics of Spanish literature as Richard Chandler, Kessel Schwartz, Emiliano DÃez-Echarri, José M. Roca Franquesa, Federico C. SaÃnz de Robles, and José A. Balseiro. Emilia Pardo Bazán wrote a total of twenty novels. From this collection ten were selected which best exemplify the change in characterization in her writings.

Artist Statement from the MFA exhibition: In my recent work, I explore my identity as a first-generation American, using my painting practice to think about early memories of living in-between two cultures. These remembered moments allow a space for me to consider how both cultures merge. Portraying vivid memories through colorful recognizable objects and body parts, memories take on a new context, showing the passage of time, and reflecting on how memories take on new meaning. My desire to save these moments relates to my wish to name what makes me belong, and what marks me as unique, within the two cultures in which I exist.
