This conference paper explores how what we perceive differs from what we believe. The authors bring three perspectives together with the aim of seeking meaning in our relationship with our natural “arena” through symbolic metalanguage:1) comprehending a gestalt approach to perception and narratives as metaphor; 2) gaining perceptual reciprocity to enhance our relationship with nature; 3) overcoming the obstacles of misinterpretation and unreliable narratives of the simulacra. It was presented at the 2022 Association of Philosophy and Literature Conference held May 25-28, 2022.

This report summarizes the results of a survey given to UNT Library employees on assistive technology practices. In fall 2021, the Library Accessibility Committee conducted an online survey about assistive technologies in the Libraries. The purpose of this survey was 1) to learn more about the assistive technology in the Libraries (e.g., types of technology, employee knowledge, etc.) and 2) to learn more about employee training preferences. The survey included 13 questions divided among three sections: assistive technology, training preferences, and suggestions. Sixty-seven (67) library employees responded to the survey. Results are provided in the Assistive Technology Survey Report.

Survey created by the UNT Library Council on Diversity and Inclusion (LCDI) exploring if rankism in the UNT Libraries contributes to experiences. It was created based on results from a previous survey, the UNT Libraries' Climate Survey, which identified feelings of belittlement or degradation in the UNT Libraries. The survey was open for responses between November 1, 2023 and November 15, 2023. Results are not included in this document.

This article looks at the role of the UNT Libraries as an essential service during the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-at-home declaration in Denton County, Tx in the Spring of 2020.

Article shares the leadership lessons learned by a librarian who once served as a faculty member but then became an Associate Dean. Transitioning from a faculty role to an administrative one creates a landscape of learning that promotes growth and exposes challenges. Poster highlighting virtual outreach events to engage students during the COVID-19 pandemic. These events utilized Zoom’s video conferencing technology and aimed to be entertaining while also promoting the library’s virtual reference services.

This report asserts that the UNT Libraries has been making efforts to address the vestiges of systemic oppression of socially and politically minoritized populations. The project team members conducted a survey and a focus group, and they consulted with an advisory group consisting of representatives from the library, student affairs, and the professorate.

Survey developed as part of a research study related to transgender and gender non-conforming people's experience of workplace belonging in U.S. libraries. The survey was open for responses between September 1, 2023 and November 30, 2023. Results are not included in this document.

This article reviewed twelve years of circulation data related to loss and damage of video game equipment, specifically consoles, game controllers, and gaming peripherals such as steering wheels, virtual reality headsets, and joysticks in an academic library collection.

The presentation examines the considerations and processes for collaborating on scholarship from the perspective of academic librarians. It includes how to choose team members, facilitate collaboration and organize all the elements of a project to create a successful publication or presentation. Also included are administrative responsibilities, thoughts on handling problems, and examples of delineating responsibilities. It was presented at the Cross Timbers Library Collaborative Conference held on August 7, 2020.

Presentation highlights meeting science in the context of libraries with support from a survey conducted by the authors. Topics include the predictors of success for productive meetings, what academic librarian perceptions of effective meeting leadership are, and learn about the “best practices” for meeting participation and leadership.
