This paper presents a case study of the work carried out by the University of North Texas (UNT) Libraries and the intersection of metadata modeling, metadata input rules and documentation, metadata quality assessments, and technology to empower metadata editors to create high-quality metadata.

This paper provides an overview of the UNT Libraries' self-audit using criteria from the Trusted Repositories Audit and Certification checklist. It contains an overview of the structure of this self-audit, explores the documents generated and auited, and examines the challenges and solutions as revealed by this process.
