Article describes how, the goal of ITS is to support learning content, activities, and resources, adapted to the specific needs of the individual learner and influenced by learner’s motivation. This research proposes an intentional model that adopts Map formalism to support personalized learning guidance by considering learner’s motivation.

This is an appendix to “What We Can Learn From Each Other: International Archival Pedagogy Conversations and Collaborations,” a manuscript that was inspired by a collaborative workshop at the 2023 institute of the Archival Education and Research Initiative (AERI). The lively workshop discussion revealed both how much the participants all had in common, and how much they had to learn from each other. Their discussion highlighted how disconnected and geographically siloed archival education programs still continue to be, despite opportunities for international collaboration between archival educators. With this issue in mind, workshop participants decided to continue their conversations past the AERI 2023 meeting as part of an investigation of current pedagogical practices, teaching needs, and future goals of archival educators in a variety of settings. They met on Zoom and then corresponded asynchronously for a discussion of the structures of their archival education programs, their students’ needs, their teaching goals, how they respond to challenges in their virtual and physical classrooms, and how they can leverage this and future collaborations to benefit both their students and the archival education field as a whole. This article presents a novel approach of introducing a weighted temporal feature to bias a topic clustering toward articles in a similar time frame, performed over a set of finance journal abstracts from 1974 to 2020 to demonstrate how time can be emphasized in trend detection. The authors detect trending finance topics that are not identifiable when we use a standard clustering approach with no temporal bias.

Article is a study using cross-sectional methodology to investigate information sources and knowledge concerning the ZIKV virus among 300 under-served pregnant Latinas recruited from prenatal care clinics in the North Texas region. Bivariate and multiple logistic regression models are used to investigate associations between the primary outcomes and patient characteristics.

Poster on a comparative analysis of data literacy competency frameworks. Seven competency frameworks were selected for in-depth analysis, and the results are compiled in a table. This work is part of an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant. It was presented at the 2022 Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) Annual Conference held October 24-26, 2022.

This article is a study describing the canal transportation of the different file systems in various combinations of the “Glide path (Gp)” by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).

Article proposing a computational method to quantify and dissect visual reasoning. The method characterizes spatial and temporal features and identifies common and contrast visual reasoning patterns to extract significant gaze activities. The visual reasoning patterns are explainable and can be compared among different groups to discover strategy differences. Empirical observations show that the method can capture the temporal and spatial features of human visual attention and distinguish expertise level. By revealing task-related reasoning processes, this method demonstrates potential for explaining human visual understanding.

Grant narrative for the grant, "Connecting Communities with Libraries, Archives, and Historians Through Oral Histories." The University of North Texas (UNT) Department of Information Science, partnering with the UNT Oral History Program, will host a series of forums to identify best practices and strategies to respond to challenges around building, implementing, preserving, and accessing community oral history projects. The project team will convene librarians, archivists, oral history practitioners, public historians, community-based memory workers, and others working in oral history to identify good practices, share challenges and lessons learned, and prepare an actionable roadmap for building, implementing, preserving, and sustaining community oral history projects.

Authors of article conduct a content analysis of research on technology use for teaching mathematics to students with disabilities. They applied word networks and structural topic modeling of 488 studies published from 1980 to 2021. Results showed that the words “computer” and “computer-assisted instruction” had the highest degree of centrality in the 1980s and 1990s, and “learning disability” was another central word in the 2000s and 2010s.

Article describes how, since 2008, the End of Term Web Archive has been gathering snapshots of the federal web, consisting of the publicly accessible .gov and .mil websites. This paper describes the decisions made in the creation of these derivatives, the technologies used, and introduces the WARC Metadata Sidecar, which presents a useful approach for creating and storing auxiliary metadata for web archives.

This article investigates information transmission networks and news-sharing behaviors regarding COVID-19 on Twitter in Korea. The real time aggregation of social media data can serve as a starting point for designing strategic messages for health campaigns and establishing an effective communication system during this outbreak.

This presentation explores the variation in interlinear-glossed text (IGT) in 5 closely related South-Central Tibeto-Burman languages with verb stem alternation, reduplicated adverbial modifiers, and pre-verbal directionals. While IGT is a rich representation of language, IGT for even closely related languages can look markedly different due to individual linguists’ divergent analyses. In comparing the discrepancies between representations of such features, we gain insight into the underlying analytic thinking of the annotator to reexamine and improve analyses.

This article analyzes item‐level metadata in three language archives by focusing on free‐text metadata: the Endangered Language Archive, Pacific Regional Archive for Digital Sources in Endangered Cultures, and the Archive of the Indigenous Languages of Latin America. The study identified categories of information included in Description metadata fields and the relative distribution of these categories.

This article is from the 26th ACM Conference on Innovation and Technology in Computer Science Education and discusses the design, effectiveness, and curricular impacts of an introductory data science course focused on practical programming skills and allowing students to concurrently complete the course in Python, R, or MATLAB. Students indicated a preference for the multi-language course design and the course became the recommended first programming course for a newly developed and approved undergraduate data science majors.

Article describes how, to reduce the conceptual ambiguity in interdisciplinary knowledge organization systems (KOSs) and enhance interdisciplinary KOS management, this paper proposes a framework for interdisciplinary semantic drift (ISD) detection based on the normal cloud model (NCM). The research indicates the meaning of an interdisciplinary concept will drift from the high KPE discipline to the low KPE discipline as long as interdisciplinary knowledge potential differences (KPD) exist between these two related disciplines.
