A content analysis of research on technology use for teaching mathematics to students with disabilities: word networks and topic modeling

Authors of article conduct a content analysis of research on technology use for teaching mathematics to students with disabilities. They applied word networks and structural topic modeling of 488 studies published from 1980 to 2021. Results showed that the words “computer” and “computer-assisted instruction” had the highest degree of centrality in the 1980s and 1990s, and “learning disability” was another central word in the 2000s and 2010s.

Authors of the article suggest that the novelty of Intentional Model of Pedagogical Process Guidance (IMPPG) is the effectiveness use of Cognitive Trait Model to be aware of different traits of learner. This model has been experimented and assessed with tutors and students learning spreadsheet management in a first-year studying in applied license’s degree in Business English and applied license’s degree in Education.

Exploration of Accuracy, Completeness and Consistency in Metadata for Physical Objects in Museum Collections

Conference paper for an exploratory study that examined student-created metadata for physical non-text resources. The authors applied in-depth qualitative and quantitative content analysis to the Dublin Core (DCTERMS) metadata created by the graduate students in two sections of an introductory digital library metadata course. Finding of comparative analysis for the asynchronous course section and the section with synchronous class meetings are also presented. Toward an understanding of Data Literacy Needs in Community Colleges: A Conceptual Framework

Automatic trend detection: Time-biased document clustering

This article presents a novel approach of introducing a weighted temporal feature to bias a topic clustering toward articles in a similar time frame, performed over a set of finance journal abstracts from 1974 to 2020 to demonstrate how time can be emphasized in trend detection. The authors detect trending finance topics that are not identifiable when we use a standard clustering approach with no temporal bias.

Identifying Challenges for Information Organization in Language Archives: Preliminary Findings

Conference paper elucidates the issues facing language archive managers and users through two steps: content analysis of information organization in language archives, and semi-structured interviews with language archive managers and users. Primary challenges identified include lacking institutional support and a range of factors which impact authority control in language archives. This version is the author's accepted manuscript.
