Transport Neutral Digital Object Replication [Poster]

This poster discusses digital object replication. The University of North Texas (UNT) Libraries has implemented a simple transport neutral digital object replication strategy in its production digital repository infrastructure. This strategy is built with the same ideals as other Curation Micro-Services, in respect to lightweight, software independent specifications coupled to provide a set of services for digital repositories, this approach to replication has allowed the UNT Libraries the flexibility of multiple storage infrastructures and the reassurance the objects are being fully validated as they are replicated throughout the repository.

The Portal to Texas History Usability Test

Analyzing the Persistence of Referenced Web Resources with Memento [Presentation]

Presentation for the 2011 International Conference on Open Repositories. This presentation discusses the results of a study into the persistence and availability of web resources referenced from papers in scholarly repositories. Memento makes it possible to automate discovery of archived resources and to consider the time between the publication of the research and the archiving of the reference URLs.

PREMIS Event Service

Legacy TRAIL Content Conversion Plan: Blue Angel Technology Crawls

This report was prepared for the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). It outlines the current state of and future conversion roadmap for the content captured by Blue Angel Technologies during the time period of 2002-2006 for TSLAC as part of the Texas Resource and Information Locator Service (TRAIL). This document will give a history of the data stored at the University of North Texas Libraries and information about the makeup of the collection as it exists in 2011, including the physical layout on disk, number of files, and MIME types. Finally, this document outlines a conversion path from the current file based organization system to a standard archival data format for inclusion in a future TRAIL discovery interface.
