Embryonic developmental oxygen preconditions cardiovascular functional response to acute hypoxic exposure and maximal β-adrenergic stimulation of anesthetized juvenile American alligators (Alligator mississippiensis) (open access)

Embryonic developmental oxygen preconditions cardiovascular functional response to acute hypoxic exposure and maximal β-adrenergic stimulation of anesthetized juvenile American alligators (Alligator mississippiensis)

Article investigating the effect of embryonic hypoxia on the cardiovascular phenotype of 4-year-old American alligators (Alligator mississippiensis). The findings indicate that embryonic hypoxia in crocodilians alters the cardiovascular phenotype, changing the juvenile response to acute hypoxia and β-adrenergic stimulation.

Finding New Cell Wall Regulatory Genes in Populus trichocarpa Using Multiple Lines of Evidence

Article describes study which searched for genes with putatively unknown roles in regulating cell wall biosynthesis using an extended network-based Lines of Evidence (LOE) pipeline to combine multiple omics data sets in P. trichocarpa, including gene coexpression, gene comethylation, population level pairwise SNP correlations, and two distinct SNP-metabolite Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) layers.

Corrigendum: The Differences Between Malate Dehydrogenase Malic Enzymes and Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Malic Enzymes Subtypes of C₄ Photosynthesis: More Than Decarboxylating Enzymes

This is a correction of a previously released article. A mistake was found in Figure 2 of the published work. The names of the cell types, “mesophyll cell” and “bundle sheath” were erroneously interchanged.

Jasmonic Acid Is Required for Plant Acclimation to a Combination of High Light and Heat Stress

Article studying the responses of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) plants to a combination of high light and heat stress (HL+HS) conditions. The study reveals that Jasmonic acid (JA) plays an important role in the acclimation of plants to a combination of HL+HS.
