Bryan also reports that Austin has resigned his office as commander-in-chief of the army of Texas and will likely travel to the United States as commissioner of Texas to negotiate for aid; Burleson has been elected to take Austin's place as commander-in-chief; and military personnel were confused and displeased by the outcome of the convention.
