The following report provides information conducted with the purpose of ascertaining the effect of oxygen on activated charcoal at approximately one atmosphere by measuring the amount of CO2 formed over a known length of time.

This report discusses the calculation involved in converting neutron dose to flux. In order to test conversion calculation methods, the flux entering the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Lid Tank and the water by the north face of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Bulk Shielding Reactor was used.

Impurities are separated from plutonium solutions by means of TTA (thenoyltrifluoracetone) extractions. Plutonium in hydrochloric acid solution is reduced to the trivalent state with hydroxylamine, and some impurities are extracted into hezone or a solution of TTA in hezone. The organic phase is removed, and the plutonium in the aqueous phase is oxidized to the tetravalent state with nitric acid.
