There are two men standing off to the left looking at the damage left behind by the fire.

Postcard of uniformed fire fighters standing near a hand-drawn fire engine. The engine has two poles on its front for the fire fighters to carry, and requires multiple people to move. The engine has the words, " Torrent Veteran" written on its hose. On the back of the postcard, the sender left a handwritten message that says, "Cannot find any cards of the Phila. Fire Dept. -Edna V. Johnson."

Postcard with a photograph of the "New Yorker" in action in he water along the coast; the boat is firing all of its water cannons on the right and left. The text on the back of the card says "We have 9 more like this one. (This is the first fire boat built for the dept in Engine Co. #57."

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter with a note on the back saying there has not been many fires in Battle Creek, Michigan to deal with. The photograph on the reverse side shows the "Combination Chemical wagon and Steamer - #3 Fire Station Battle Creek - Mich." There are eight firemen in the photo, three standing around the steamer wagon and five around the wagon on the right side.

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter telling Pendexter to call Henry W. Woodward in Springfield, Massachusetts for more photographs. Johnston says that the men in the photo belong to Engine #3 as they work on their spraying and he is the man wearing the light shirt; the photograph shows the men with their hose shooting a high pressured stream of water into the air.

The back of the postcard has a handwritten message that says, "Knowing you collect fire dept. cards, I'm sending you one from Richmond, where I am today."
