Daniel expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell in which he expressed his continued interest and good wishes. Daniel advises that he looks forward to seeing Carswell in Abilene November 3.

Carswell identifies himself as a Delegate to the convention and requests a room at the Herring, Amarillo or Capitol, mentions a mutual friend, Mr. W. E. Fraley, or Jess Rogers noting he wrote the Democratic Housing committee two weeks back and received no reply.

Burleson confirms he will forward to Carswell a copy of the current Congressional Directory, returns Carswell's check and advises him that there is no charge for the book. Enclosure includes: Personal check from The Citizens National Bank Abilene, Texas made out to Omar Burleson and signed by Carswell Agency, T. N. Carswell dated June 26, 1953.

A letter written to Senator John L. McClellan, Chairman of the Select Committee to Investigate Improper Activities in Labor-Management Relations, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, dated July 29, 1959. Carswell advises that the Labor Bill approved by the House is far different from what he had been led to believe would be sent to the floor and requests that McClellan defend the bill as it was submitted. He requests to be sent a copy of the Press Club address.

Mahon expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell regarding pending labor legislation and foreign aid reduction. Mahon advises that he advocates the passage of effective labor reform and that he has voted in the past for reductions in the foreign aid program. A handwritten postscript by Mahon states, "Your letters are always welcome - Remind me of the old days. George".

McClellan expresses his appreciation for Carswell's complimentary reference regarding his efforts on the labor legislation. He confirms that he made notes on the comments by Carswell regarding the Smith bill and advises that he has not voted for one dollar for foreign aid in four years.

Latimer advises Carswell that he is sending to him a copy of Senate Bill 154 pertaining to adult probation and parole and confirms that he is in agreement with him on the issues concerning government employees and unions, on an election by voters of the next Texas Senator, and on segregation by local choice.

A letter written to Allen N. Carswell from Norwood [T. N. Carswell], dated August 29, 1959. T. N. Carswell acknowledges his receipt of the Trust Agreement and discusses certain points in the Trust suggesting that Allen have a good lawyer draw up a will.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Ruby Conaway McIntosh, Denver, Colorado. McIntosh advises Carswell that she read of his work in the Abilene Reporter and has enclosed a clipping about a friend doing similar rehabilitation for the state of Colorado. The enclosure includes an article printed by the Denver Post dated October 29, 1951 titled "Let Your Heart Fill Your Chest -- Parolees Get Help."

Gordon, Administrator, Interstate Parole Compact (by Walter T. Stone, Deputy Administrator Parole Matters), Sacramento 14, California dated August 29, 1952. An advisement by Stone of the tentative discharge date of Subject A-9803. Correspondence typewritten at the bottom of the page from Pauline Kirk to Mr. Carswell requests from Carswell the report requested by Stone in order for Subject to be considered for release.

He advises of a personal invitation which Carswell will receive in due time for a dinner to be given by Mr. and Mrs. Wright honoring Dr. and Mrs. Reiff.
