Caption: "HERE'S ALL THAT WAS LEFT of a 1952 model sedan Monday night after it was struck by a northeast bound Rock Island passenger train almost two miles southwest of Choctaw on Lake Hiwasse road. Driver of the car, Mrs. Prena Hermosa Jackson, 50, of 613 SW 30, was killed instantly. The car was sheared in half. Rest of the automobile was strewn for almost a mile along the tracks. Trooper said the victim was alone in the car and apparently ignored desperate attempts by another motorist to get her to stop in time."

A 50-year- old Oklahoma City woman, wife of a Capitol Hill physician, died when a train struck her automobile Monday near Choctaw. A Tulsa dump truck driver was fatally injured when he was pinned under his overturned truck near Depew, Creek county. Mrs. Brenda Hermosa Jackson, 613 SW 30, was killed instantly shortly before 6 p.m. when her car was struck by an east-bound Rock Island passenger train. The crash occurred 1 3/4 miles southwest of Choctaw on Lake Hiwasse road. The woman's 1952 model sedan was spit in two and fragments of the car were scattered more than a mile along the track. The woman's body was found about 50 feet from the scene of the crash. Mrs. Jackson, wife of Dr. Alvin R. Jackson was alone in the car. Four persons were injured, two seriously, early Tuesday when a 19 year old sailor swerved his convertible to avoid a head-on collision with a car approaching on the wrong side of the road in the 400 block SW 59. The convertible swerved off the road, into a plowed field and crashes into a ditch. The driver said the other car did not stop. Taken to Mercy hospital were the driver, Delano Hubert Smith, 19, a sailor from Mustang; Cathleen Jane Gallagher, 18, of 3805 NW 14, Logan Ellis Dunbar, 21, Mustang, and Barbara Ann Goodner, 19, of 4717 NW 11. Most seriously injured was Miss Gallagher, who was riding in the front seat of the convertible. She suffered possible fractures of her jaw and left leg and a head injury. Officers J. W. Rankin and R. D. Brokaw said Dunbar was thrown from the back into the front seat and his head struck the windshield when the car smashed into the ditch. He received severe head cuts. Smith and Miss Goodner both suffered minor bruises."
