Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "If Don Hotz keeps reducing the time it takes his State Fair Arena crews to prepare for a track meet, he might do it in the time he was told he could, the fairgrounds arena manager observed Thursday. "It took us 12 hours this year," Jotz said, as he surveyed the near-completed preperations for the third annual Jaycees invitational track and field meet which opens Friday. "When we bought this track three years ago, the manufacturer told us it would take eight hours to install. "That first year, it took eight hours just to get it off the truck. It took 48 hours to get everything in place. Hotz, whose only prior track experience was "what a normal high school boy would run," admitted that the annual Oklahoma City Jaycee event "is altogether different."......High school athletes will begin the two-day competition Friday, with the university and college athletes taking over Saturday. Ralph Higgins, meet director and former Oklahoma State University track coach, supervised arena preparations Thursday morning before departing for the other meet-related chores."
