Patent for new and improved wagon-bow sockets. This design "furnishes a firm support for the [wagon] bow at both top and bottom of the socket, by which it is evident it will be rigidly secured against all lateral motions" (lines 38-41). This eliminates the "unsightly appearance, leaking, and other defects of the uneven height of bows so often resulting from the use of ordinary staples" (lines 44-47).

Patent for a new and improved method of canning seafood with tin cans. This design calls for perforated paper to line the cans, which prevents the discoloration of the seafood inside.

Patent for a new and improved water elevator. This design "is to provide each bucket with a weighted back; also, in the manner of connecting the chains thereto, so that the necessity of the employment of a weighted wheel is obviated" (lines 20-24). This means that individual buckets may be removed and replaced, and construction becomes more durable and simple.

Patent for a new and improved military saddle. This design is "so constructed that the valises and other equipments may be connected with the saddle in such a way as to distribute and balance their weight, and at the same time make the saddle comfortable for the rider. The invention consists in constructing a saddle with appliances to receive valises, a pair of girths, a gun, and an overcoat" (lines 19-28).

Patent for a new and improved grain register. This design "is to furnish registers for recording the quantity of grain measured and sacked, and which shall be simple in construction and accurate in operation" (lines 12-15).

Patent for a new and improved rack for ropes. This design "consists in a peculiar construction of frame and arrangement of the spools or reels upon the frame to secure a light and compact structure of sufficient stability to support the required number of rope-coils" (lines 15-19).
