Lambert, a plumber for the Public School System said that the 7 inch bass was uncovered when he was repairing a four inch gas line. The fish was encased in a six inch layer of concrete. Lambert thought that the fish had gotten mixed up when the cement was originally poured in 1910 and had been preserved all of this time. Actually, the fish was preserved in formaldehyde and is now missing from the school's science room.
