A letter written to Mr. Thomas B. White, Chairman, Board of Pardons and Paroles, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, dated November 27, 1953. Carswell advises White that because the release date "has been fixed" for December 28, 1953 that he is requesting, again, a consideration be made for full pardon and restoration for Subject 121,140. He advises that the confidence he expressed in his letter of June 3 regarding Subject still is applicable and, if it were possible to make a stronger appeal, would do so.

A letter addressed to T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from Thomas B. White, Chairman, Board of Pardons & Paroles, Austin, Texas, dated December 2, 1953. In reply to a letter from Carswell dated November 27, 1953 regarding Subject 121,140, White addresses their policy requiring good conduct for five years by parolees before consideration will be given for a full pardon.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from John Ben Shepperd, Secretary of State, Austin, Texas (by Pauline Kirk), dated February 27, 1951. Kirk advises Carswell of the enclosed correspondence and a $500 Postal Savings Certificate received from the California Authorities issued in favor of Subject A-9808-A. She expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his assistance and advises him that nothing was said by California regarding the tools belonging to subject. Typewritten on State of Texas Department of State letterhead bearing HAMMERMILL BOND watermark.

A letter written to Mr. John Ben Shepperd, Secretary of State (Attn: Miss Pauline Kirk, Chief, Parole Division), Austin, Texas, from Fred Finsley, Chief State Parole Officer (by William T. Byrnes, Supervising State Parole Officer), Sacramento 14, California, dated March 27, 1951. Byrnes refers to Kirk's letter of March 23, 1951 and advises of an enclosed Postal Savings Bond belonging to Subject A-9808-A, as requested.

Rather compliments Carswell on his Fifth Division Convention "success" and on his speech as one of the best he has heard.

A letter written to Governor Allan Shivers, Austin, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated August 27, 1952. Carswell gives his views as to the present political situation and suggests, if it is legally possible, that he would like to see two (2) sets of Electors on the Democratic ballot; one set agreeable to the National Democratic Nominees, and the other set "for the tidelands" (Eisenhower-Nixon). Carswell states that he would like to vote a straight Democratic ticket but "if I must, in order to repudiate a high handed steal openly accomplished and thinly veiled in legality by a spurious dictum - Paramount Rights - spawned for the purpose by a "Charlie McCarthy" minority of the United States Supreme Court —I shall mark out the electors on the Democratic ballot and vote for the Electors on the Republican ballot".
