Carswell states that he would like to vote a straight Democratic ticket but "if I must, in order to repudiate a high handed steal openly accomplished and thinly veiled in legality by a spurious dictum - Paramount Rights - spawned for the purpose by a "Charlie McCarthy" minority of the United States Supreme Court —I shall mark out the electors on the Democratic ballot and vote for the Electors on the Republican ballot".

Daniel expresses his appreciation for Carswell's message of support for him in the Governor's race and for his contribution toward the expenses. Richardson expresses his appreciation for the letter of April 25 and concurs that Carswell is "quite correct that we shall have probably the best opportunity for raising money that we shall have probably in our generation". Carswell references the letter of July 22 sent by Suddath and advises that Subject 95040 OP is now under his supervision. Carswell advises Suddath regarding his own immediate investigation, vouches for Subject and requests that Suddath investigate the possibility of a rodeo performer using the name of Subject.

Peterson, Investigator), dated May 27, 1957. Referring to Subject N. C. Prison 60841-2, Peterson advises Carswell that the case will not be considered again until December 8, 1957.
