Carswell expresses his regrets at not seeing Maisel at Wellington and describes the convention events in which he participated. He advises that he has sent his committee nominations and that he will attempt a little membership campaign on his own during December assuring that the extra cost will be justified.

A letter written to Maj. Gen. Henry Terell, Jr., Commanding General, 90th Division, Camp Barkeley, Texas, from Fred Hughes, Post Commander, Parramore Post 57, and T. N. Carswell, Commander, 5th Division, dated November 27, 1942. Hughes and Carswell express their appreciation to the officers and men under Terell's command for their participation in the Armistice Day parade advising that it's success was due, in a large way, to the 90th Division.

Carswell acknowledges the receipt of the letter from Duble reporting the progress in the training of his guard company. He advises Duble that he will refer the letter to Major Alvis who has replaced him as Active Commander.

Carswell, Commander 5th Division, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Charlie Maisel, Department Commander, The American Legion, Phillips, Texas, dated August 27, 1942. Maisel advises of the duty as 5th Division Commander to serve one more year on the Department Membership Committee suggesting that Carswell resign and send to him the name of someone to take his place then appoint his membership chairman which would set two working at the job.

Carswell acknowledges his receipt of the official notice relative to room reservations for the 1942-43 session and advises that he will not make a deposit now ascribing their no-refund rule under such conditions as out of place.

Carswell advises Teubel that he enjoyed the district meeting at Wellington, hopes they did some good and assures Teubel that he will do his best to keep things moving in the Legion.
