A letter written to Mr. Thomas B. White, Chairman, Board of Pardons and Paroles, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, dated November 27, 1953. Carswell advises White that because the release date "has been fixed" for December 28, 1953 that he is requesting, again, a consideration be made for full pardon and restoration for Subject 121,140. He advises that the confidence he expressed in his letter of June 3 regarding Subject still is applicable and, if it were possible to make a stronger appeal, would do so.

A letter addressed to T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from Thomas B. White, Chairman, Board of Pardons & Paroles, Austin, Texas, dated December 2, 1953. In reply to a letter from Carswell dated November 27, 1953 regarding Subject 121,140, White addresses their policy requiring good conduct for five years by parolees before consideration will be given for a full pardon.

Subject 17671 [108,345] explains how he "feels bad" about the letter Carswell received from Mrs. Breeding demanding that Carswell return the payments for the forged checks.

Russell advises Carswell of the enclosed copy of a reply from the Civil Service Commission concerning the grades and pay of Clerical Audit Supervisors and promises to communicate any additional information he receives from Mr. Gallagher. Kirk advises Carswell of the enclosed correspondence and a $500 Postal Savings Certificate received from the California Authorities issued in favor of Subject A-9808-A. She expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his assistance and advises him that nothing was said by California regarding the tools belonging to subject. A letter written to Dr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated January 27, 1941. Davis asks Carswell to write or wire his Senator in reference to the liquor traffic bringing pressure to defeat the confirmation of the appointment of Dr. W. D. Bradfield as Chairman of the Texas Liquor Control Board.

A letter written to Dr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated March 27, 1941. Davis reports that House Bill 373 has passed the House, and that it will come up for public hearing before the Senate Criminal Jurisprudence Committee where the State Medical Association plans to oppose the bill.

Advisement from Davis regarding the counties that are to be included in Carswell's district, qualifying probable success due to P. D. O'Brien being located in Big Spring but requesting Carswell to revise the list and submit suggestions.

A letter written to Major Earl Earp, Battalion Company Commander, from Thos. N. Carswell, Major, Infantry, Commanding Tenth Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, Abilene, Texas, Armistice Day Program Chairman, dated September 27, 1941. Carswell outlines the plan for the Armistice Day Program noting The Texas Defense Guard is to be honored and invites Earp's command to participate. Typewritten at bottom of page is a reply to Major [T. N. Carswell] from Earl Earp, Major, Infantry, TDG., Commanding First Battalion that due to football game it is impossible for the units to make the trip but he hopes to make the trip.

Carswell, Commander 5th Division, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Charlie Maisel, Department Commander, The American Legion, Phillips, Texas, dated August 27, 1942. Maisel advises of the duty as 5th Division Commander to serve one more year on the Department Membership Committee suggesting that Carswell resign and send to him the name of someone to take his place then appoint his membership chairman which would set two working at the job.
