Mrs. Doyen details the reasons her family moved to the Philippines, and then to Kerrville. Within the interview, she also talks about her family history (including her Cherokee Indian heritage), the flood of 1932, her grandparent's jewelry store, Self's Jewelry, her schooling in Kerrville, meeting her husband, Glen Doyen, during World War II, and her various occupations throughout her life. Mrs. Doyen says she possesses many photos of Kerrville because of her and her mother's work as photography developers.

The interview includes Flatley's personal experiences about being a P-38 pilot in the Pacific Theater during the World War II, basic training, flight training, P-38 training, various assignments and missions, and the destruction of forty-seven locomotives. Flatley also talks about various missions to targets in the Philippines, activities between combat missions, postwar military activities in the Philippines, and postwar adjustments to civilian life.

Stationed in the Philippines when the Japanese invaded in December 1941, Adair was captured, survived the Bataan Death March, and interned at Cabanatuan before going to Osaka and Zentsuji, Japan for the remainder of the war.

She sleeps on the tennis deck and has gotten so used to being rained out that she covers her head and falls back asleep. Agnes spends her time with Dienst and Baird, who she mentions were married before leaving Topeha. They occasionally see the U.S. Orchestra and movies and there are always song-fests in the evenings.

The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Al Stevens. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1943 as a metallurgical engineer. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the Navy Electronics School at Harvard University as well as a specialized radar training program organized by MIT at the Harbor Building in Boston, Massachusetts. He received further training in radar countermeasures at Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. He served on the USS Wasatch (ACG-9). When the ship was anchored, he was assigned to deliver orders and mail. He describes the Operation Olympic portion of the plan to invade Japan. He was part of the force that occupied Wakanoura and Nagoya, Japan. He shares an anecdote about obtaining a Japanese sword as a souvenir in Nagoya. In North China he participated in the repatriation of the Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans. He wrote a book, ?Up Close and Personal,? about his World War II experiences.
