Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Claridge's London proposing reducing their claim from $37,000 to $30,000, but Gobindram offered only $11,000, which Harris refused. After further discussion, Harris proposed settling for $20,000, but eventually agreed to halve the claim to $18,500. Gobindram agreed to pay $8,000 in cash within a month and provided a note for $7,000, payable within a year, with an additional $3,000 to be paid through business dealings.
