A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated November 26, 1941. Davis acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell and expresses his appreciation for the check for the Judge Miller fee. He advises Carswell that the petitions will be "in the hands of our Friends" by February 1, will be subject to the poll tax list of 1942 and that they will not know who are qualified voters until after February 1. He advises of their need to meet before February.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated January 26, 1943. Davis describes a "hotel mixup" including the Grace Hotel, the Wooten Hotel, the Hilton Hotel and a Tourist Court when he was in Abilene and expresses his dismay at forgeting the proposed meeting with Carswell. He advises that they are sponsoring an anti-advertising bill which is being scouted by Senator George Moffett, that Representative John Connally has introduced a ten-mile bill like the one passed in 1918 that dried up the State and that they plan to get behind the Governor's curfew bill. Davis expresses the need for more Field Days assuring that the events will be more fruitful than in the past.

The reverse side includes a letter addressed to Sir--Mr. H. S. Davis, Internal Revenue Office, Dallas, Texas from Carswell Travel Agency, Wooten Hotel Lobby, By T. N. Carswell, Partner dated July 2, 1952. Carswell refers to the letter from Davis dated June 26, 1952 and advises Davis regarding the work rendered by Mrs. Gay in the Agency thus the method of payment of her salary in regards to her tax return.

Carswell advises Holt of a letter that he is writing to the Baptist associations and expresses his desire to "get this matter before the Methodist people". He advises of the absence of effort or of a program save a temperance lesson from Christians on the harmful effects of beverage alcohol and of his belief that a such a course should be required in church supported schools.
